Luciano Azzigotti was born Buenos Aires, on December 5, 1975. He began studying piano & music language at the age of seven with Martha P. de Curzi at ‘Alberto Williams’ Conservatory of Buenos Aires. Professor of Musical Language and Music Theory in 1988.
During 1990 his first contacts with jazz musicians took place, taking up lessons with Paul Schmeling, and Guillermo Romero.
He studied Composition at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata under the guidance of Mariano Etkin. Master classes with Dieter Schnebel, Mauricio Kagel, Francisco Colasanto and Jorge Sad.
During 1998 he takes part of a cultural reconstruction movement of black music tradition in Rio de la Plata, called 2 orillas , doing deep studies of afrorrioplatenses rhythms.
Since 2001 he worked in artistic collectives of Buenos Aires, and London scenes as pianist, accordionist and composer building an interdisciplinary and inter-stylistic attitude to music. Self-taught in computer music languages.
In 2006 , founding member of Magma Concert Music, with concerts both in Buenos Aires and La Plata.
In 2007 he won the Fundación Telefónica’s scholarship ( Interactive Art Workshop directed by Rodrigo Alonso Mariano Sardon).
In 2008, his exhibitions were curated by Graciela Taquini, such as Osmos as APH88C. During the same year he won a production grant by Conseil des Arts et de Lettres, Government of Quebec.
During 2010 he received the MELOSGANDINI scholarship to study with composer Gerardo Gandini, and Fondo Nacional de las Artes creation’s grant.
Invited as artist in resident at Buenos Aires’s based UCLA Hipermedia Center for Latinamérica (cheLA), researchs on interactive scores (CI), gestural analysis (DiGLo). He follows his training on Artificial Life (Emiliano Causa) and Max/Msp Jitter (Juan Manuel Berenguer) in Spain Cultural Center. Since 2008 he serves as Teacher Assistant in the Contemporary Music Languages Department at University of la Plata.
